My client is a global leading chemical manufacturing organisation and are now looking for an EHS Manager to join their team.
-To maintain, advise and continually improve best practice in Health, Safety, Security and Environment for the site.
-To provide leadership and direction to the management team on all aspects of Health Safety and Environment.
-To ensure compliance in all Health Safety and Environmental regulations and strive to achieve all aspects of company best practices.
-To evaluate risk and develop risk reduction measures.
-To maintain, advise on and improve the EHS Management system including ISO14001, 18001 and OSHAS 18001.
-Identify gaps in legislative compliance, company guideline compliance and review performance information with an aim to develop plans to close these gaps.
-To ensure EHS Management Systems undergo management review on a frequent basis, incorporating improvements.
-Identify, develop and facilitate appropriate safety and environment training and refresher training.
-Auditing of company SHE performance and identifying where standards are not being maintained. Instigating corrective actions against relevant departments on behalf of the SHE team.
-Use control measure to minimise exposure to hazardous substances, and danger from flammable, explosive, electrical, noise, manual handling risks and other hazards.
-External liaison with regulators, consultants, trade and professional bodies to ensure compliance and capture best practice. Act as point of contact for any internal or external audits. Liaise with insurance investigators on 3rd Party liability claims.
-To facilitate process safety processes such as HAZID and HAZOP.
-Ensure Emergency Preparedness ensuring appropriate training and run test scenarios to ensure contingency plans are correct. Provide out of hours emergency contact service.
-Accountable for the security improvement plans. Manages security operations.
-Preferably Degree qualified (or equivalent) with NEBOSH diploma.
-To be conversant with Safety, Health, Fire and Environmental Regulations preferably on a site dealing with flammable liquids and DSEAR/ COMAH regulations.
-Experience of working on a top tier COMAH site.
-Passionate about sustaining standards as a base from which to improve. Producing dynamic and creative but appropriate improvements.
-Leading and influencing others. Excellent interpersonal, influencing, coaching and negotiating skills.
-Project managements, change leadership and objective analytical skills
