Initial 6 Month Contract

Core Talent is currently looking for an experienced supply chain professional to take up the position of Interim Supply Chain Director with a manufacturing customer of ours in the North West. The role will be available on an initial 6 month contract basis with a strong possibility of further work beyond.

THE ROLE:

The purpose of the position is to provide leadership and stability to a department that will temporarily be without a Supply Chain Director as the current incumbent is being transferred onto a specialist project.

The successful candidate will be tasked with ensuring that the supply chain function adheres to the strategic framework that is in place. This is very much an operational role designed to create stability within the department and ensure that performance standards are maintained throughout.

You will have responsibility for 3 direct and multiple indirect staff members in areas including planning, inventory, logistics, warehousing and customer support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

To represent Supply Chain at board level with a dotted line into the Chief Executive.

Continually monitor the performance of the supply chain through various functions including; Demand Control, Customer Order Management, Master Production Scheduling, Procurement (planning & execution), Inventory Management and Logistics.

Ensure the supply chain works to the standards / strategy set out by the current incumbent.
*

Own the supply chain management system and drive operational performance.
*

Develop the team's capabilities in line with changing structural requirements.

THE PERSON:

This role will suit someone who is comfortable leading a supply chain function from an operational perspective.

Experience working as a Supply Chain Leader within a manufacturing organisation. Director level would be preferred however exceptional senior managers will also be considered.
*

Minimum 10 years supply chain management experience is essential.
*

A track record of delivering high level & consistent performance within a supply chain (with budgets adhered to).
*

An excellent knowledge of various supply chain processes including; customer order management, sales, forecasting, logistics, procurement and warehousing.
*

Degree preferred

The company are a specialist manufacturer based in the North West. Although the initial contract will be written up for 6 months it is expected to for up to 12 months
